With just 100 days to the Commonwealth Games, construction of several infrastructure projects seems to have reached its final stage.

While most road and flyover projects are nearing completion, the government has now shifted its focus to the common wealth village.

The residential complex, spread across 27 acres has 34 residential towers with 1,168 flats. Emaar MGF, the developers of the complex, informed Khanna that nine towers have already been handed over to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The possession of the remaining 25 would be handed over by July 31.

RIL Solar Group installed and commissioned the country's first 1-MW solar plant in a record duration of less than 3 months. The power plant is expected to generate around 1.4 million units of electricity per year.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has cracked down on illegal roadside eateries, but has chosen to look away from hotels with illegal constructions and extensions. But sources say this status quo may only last till the Commonwealth Games. Delhi is expecting a huge tourist influx at the time of the event and there is a shortfall in the number of hotel rooms required. So, the authorities are in no mood to aggravate the problem.

Delhi Police has invited "motivated residents" to enrol themselves as volunteers for traffic regulation during the mega sporting extravaganza to be held between October three and 14.

City Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal himself had earlier admitted that there could be pressure on the traffic situation in the capital during the Games and said the authorities would carry out a massive campaign next month.
